CosmoEdge 1.1 Stable

CosmoEdge v1.1.0 was formally published on August 24, 2026. The release extends the shared video-ingest, visual-orchestration, event, and operations workflow across Sophon, Rockchip RKNN, and x86 while preserving target-specific runtime and model boundaries.

The release target is commit 8e43b81083536e95dbce5fcaff08277b01adc3d1. The four device archives were built from package-source commit ded6519a641ace9b1e9451ee1d62b77de9c8c4fa; the formal manifest records the reviewed documentation and CI-only provenance rebind between those identities without claiming an archive rebuild.

Source and preview delivery

Use only the archive whose target chip matches the device. Verify the SHA-256 before installation, retain the previous package and an independent data backup until post-start validation completes, and follow the deployment and upgrade guide.

What ships in 1.1.0

  • Target-specific BMRT and RKNN backends with chip-aware model and package validation.
  • Independent delivery paths for BM1688, CV186X, RK3576, and RV1126B instead of treating accelerator artifacts as interchangeable.
  • Persistent staged uploads with restart recovery, cancellation, resource admission, and deterministic cleanup.
  • Model Guard 2.3 on the controlled Sophon Protected-package path; Open packages continue to accept plaintext user models without device authorization.
  • Multi-platform ScenarioBench material covering controlled single workloads, concurrent mixed workloads, and conservative VLM observations.
  • A scoped Apple Silicon macOS Docker Preview for one local-video workflow under linux/amd64 emulation.

Early Rockchip deployments that used /data/cwaiuserdata migrate persistent data to /userdata/cwaiuserdata transactionally. The migration fails closed before service stop if both roots contain ambiguous persistent state.

Validation included in the release decision

The formal release manifest records:

  • passing x86 and Rockchip CI;
  • passing Sophon build and package audit;
  • passing controlled 72-hour runtime evidence rebind;
  • passing VLM runtime-component rebind;
  • passing final package-install evidence audit;
  • passing controlled BM1688 upgrade, recovery, and final v1.1.0 restore;
  • closed Model Guard and public Rockchip runtime distribution decisions.

These results are bound to the identities and artifacts in the formal release manifest. Installer completion alone is not post-start health or business acceptance.

ScenarioBench evidence boundary

ScenarioBench v1.1 remains an independent evidence track. Its canonical manifest is still a frozen publication candidate and does not become published or product-qualified merely because the open-source product Release is stable.

The repository contains 49 canonical small-model cases across BM1688, CV186X, RK3576, and RV1126B. Controlled small-model evidence uses a fixed 1080p24 local loop, 30-second channel steps, preview disabled, and explicit FPS, missing-sample, discard-rate, and latency thresholds. Refreshed VLM observations use 60-second steps for conservative reference limits.

Do not treat the fixed-workload 72-hour evidence as maximum capacity, RTSP resilience, restart resilience, or universal production stability. The short VLM observations are not semantic-accuracy qualification or production sizing.

Known limits and operating guidance

  • Models and packages are target-bound; BM1688, CV186X, RK3576, and RV1126B artifacts are not interchangeable.
  • Model Guard and commercial-model authorization remain a separately managed distribution path.
  • CV186X, RK3576, and RV1126B are first public v1.1.0 installations, not upgrades from a public v1.0.0 device baseline.
  • The macOS path is a development Preview under emulation, not a native or production deployment promise.
  • Validate startup health, inference, alarms, retained data, and recovery on the actual target after installation.
